The Canon Loyalty Program provides the opportunity to trade in an existing Canon product for a refurbished Canon Digital SLR
This program has I believe been running in the USA for some time if you go to Canon Digital Photography Forums (search Google) you can read what it is about.
I sent Canon an email to inquire about how this program works or where to find out about it in the UK and guess what? It does not exist for the UK.
Is this discrimination by Canon? If it is good for the USA why not for the rest of us after all there many who use Canon products in the UK.
If it is classed as discrimination is it not illegal in todays world?
Rant Over.

I doubt very much that there are more cannon users in the Uk than the US
the uk has a tiny population compared with the US

Canon USA are a different importer to Canon UK so they can do what they want. It's a bit like Mercedes cars having 1 year warranty in France but two years in the UK.

Hi, Sorry I did not state that there where more user in the USA my point being that Canon by not offering this option to user in the UK or other countries is discrimination in my view, it seems it is a case of if your white you can have but if your coloured you cannot and that is how I compare this attitude when it comes to big companies.

I can see why you might find it a minor annoyance but I think you're taking it far too much to heart. It's certainly not discrimination, and comparing it to racial discrimination is way off the mark.

I doubt they offer favourable trade-in terms in any case. You'd most likely be better off buying and selling your equipment on the second hand market.

OP, your rant is unjustified.

They don't sell Cadbury's chocolate in the US either, even though it is now own by a Kraft, a US Foods Giant.

How about Ford not making Right Hand Drive Mustang ? Should I take them to the European Courts of Human Rights for that too?

Typical from someone from Sussex, lucky we all don't have southern mentality, even me and was born in Sussex

And you're the one complaining about discrimination based on location?
