The Chalk Quarry, Portsdown Hill

This was most unusual because the Peregrine chase off all predatory birds (including Buzzards) when setting up there breeding territory.
After about 2 hours, just before I had to leave, the Peregrine made themselves visible.
Just like the Chichester, West Sussex birds, this pair had laid eggs and the female was incubating them, hunkering down and out of sight, on the ledge at the old nest site. They re-occupied this site as last year they used a more precarious site for the chicks resulting in the loss of one which fell down the cliff face.
As is normal practise during this time, the male had been away hunting before it took over incubating the eggs.

After a break of a year, I was pleased to see all was well in the quarry.
