Bokeh (derived from Japanese boke ぼけ, a noun form of bokeru ぼける, "become blurred or fuzzy") is a photographic term referring to the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field. Different lens bokeh produces different aesthetic qualities in out-of-focus backgrounds, which are often used to reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject.

My Question to you is how do YOU :wave: pronounce it??

:lol:

Great lot of help you lot are....:'(

i pronounce it bok-ey

Bo as in peep - keh as in Kevin. It sounds strange to us as it's a Japanese word and that's how it translates.

Out of focus areas - might be longer but everyone knows what you mean then

Out of focus areas

May be we ought to start using Oofa! That's pronounced "oofa" :p

Back to the Bokeh, to me it's bow-keh.

LOL I tend to say Boka, even though I know it's not right.

As a Lancastrian it's 'Bow Kay', just don't ask me to do French. :)

What about bow locks:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Well I thought it was funny.:D

Blurry bits??

If you have to explain it to someone, they don't know/care what you mean, and if they understand, they will get whatever pronunciation you choose.
