Ken.

Intriguing shot Ken. But for the moon I'd said a crop was in order but still a very good take. Where is it? Hailing from Co Durham myself I'm also pleased to see your shots.

regards

Great shot, can see this as a book cover for the "Hound of the Baskervilles"!

I don't quite know why, but I really like this shot...kinda spooky and eerie

fantastic shot Ken, really well thought out!

You do realise "Night Calls" is the name of a soft porn movie :smilenod: don't ask me how I know this :whistle2:

Great shot though :thumb:

Thanks for the comments,

Just outside of Castleside heading towards Waskerly.

Same here, I think it's because the tallest bush/tree seems to have a similiar formation as the clouds, pulling in the same direction. Spooky and eerie was the plan.

How do you know that???:D
It's also the title of a song by Joe Cocker;) :D
Cheers Matty.
Thanks again for the comments.

I refuse to comment on your pictures for fear of giving you a head that's unable to fit through the doorway :p

Seriously though, looking back through your stuff from when you first joined, it's easy to see how you've developed, grown, and developed your own style more and more, and gotten better and better each time.

I feel this breaks away from your usual (and inimitable) style, but is just as impressive as the others.
It certainly would be a different image without the moon too :)

I always go straight to any thread you put up with new shots Ken as I really like your landscape work but this one doesn't do it for me.

There's something about the way the black mass of the hill doesn't make it all the way to right edge and losing the base of the fence that creates an imbalance in my eyes.

And to be really overly picky, whatever is creating the little white dots at the base of tree is distracting me too.

The atmosphere of the sky is just great though and I hope you don't mind me airing the thoughts I have about it.

D :)

Aww shucks!:embarasse uploading pics and listening to what you all have got to say has played a big part. Overcooking pics in PS is a problem I suffer, developing an eye in PS is just as tricky as taking a good shot it seems. I am pleased with my progression albeit a slow and sometimes frustrating one, though I do feel I’m on the right track now and know what I want and what I’d like to achieve although, learning that isn't easy. Still got a long, long way to go before I reach my aim of producing something form PS of a more acceptable standard. Just my thoughts.

Not at all, pleased you did.

I did think that myself and thought of cropping closer but I felt the moon didn't sit right.

Being honest I never noticed that at the time of shot but did later during processing though it didn't seem to distract then but I agree that since uploading my eyes are drawn to it every time.
Thanks for the comments.

Tim Burton

Yep -a real departure from your usual style Ken. Mostly I like it, the grain really contributes to the eerie feel of the shot, but most important of all - it's creative. ;)

A combination of the font and the fact that the over-all feel of the shot made me think of 'the corpse bride'

Sorry, bit random I Know!

Funnily enough, that's what I thought too!
