The DC lens or the IS lens for the 1100D

I've decided to buy the Canon 1100D but I'm not sure which lens to get with it; the 18-55mm DC or the 18-55mm IS lens.

The guy is Jessops said that I didn't need any stabilisation for that type of lens and he'd bought one a few months ago with the DC lens.

Your thoughts?

I think the DC is an older lens using a micro motor and not the USM autofocus lens.

Personally I'd go with the IS lens as it is quite a good lens and focuses quite rapidly.

The 18-55 IS is a great little starter lens, it can actually produce very nice image quality.
The 18-55 non-IS doesn't perform as well optically as the IS version, as well as lacking IS.
