Part ex'd my X-Pro on Friday for an XT-10 and am impressed with it! The XT-10 is more SLR like in it's handling and operation and I never really adopted my style to the X-Pro's even though the images it produced were great. But I'm loving the small size, speed and functionality of the XT-10, I just need to find some time to take it for a proper try out somewhere interesting!
Only thing is I already feel that I will be using it more than the X-Pro and am checking out prices of the 23mm (35mm is my most used focal length on full frame) and 14mm, I just don't want to be running another lens system alongside my Nikon................

And another heavily processed shot <snip>
That's very heavily processed!!!!

It's a very long story. Do you know what/where Mickledore is? If so I'll write an essay! How did you come up with your user name?![]()

If you want a Fuji Meet at Media City, I'd be up for that
So would I....................if it was 170miles further south!![]()

Give you time to clean off the dust bunnies in top LH of that shot![]()
Thought mine was rather obvious too! Barry is the name of the time traveling sprout that lives inside Elvis' head.
Well, you asked.......
Mickledore is a high mountain pass between the two highest mountains in England; Scafell Pike and Scafell. It is situated high above Wasdale Head which is at the end of Wasdale, one of the remotest valleys in Lakeland.
In the late 1990's we went to the inn at Wasdale Head for our Xmas breaks for about 10 years on the trot. We knew the landlord quite well. He was heavily involved in the Wasdale Head MRT and we were very active mountaineers, rock climbers, fell runners etc.
On the col of Mickledore there is a permanent MRT box containing all the heavy stretchers etc that they might need on a rescue. It is there to save the effort of carrying everything up when out on a shout. The box is unlocked so to ensure that light fingered Larry hasn't had it away with the gear there is a roster for the MRT members to go up and check it.
One year it was mine host's turn, but the anointed day was Xmas day, and he was obviously busy with preparations for the festivities so he asked me and my mate to do the honours. Unfortunately there were white out conditions on the mountain, and we had a bit of a "challenge" even to find the box. Not to worry, job was done, and we earned ourselves a free pint.
When I got home I was changing ISP and my name had been taken and all I was offered was a variant with untold letters and numbers after it. I didn't fancy that so as mountains were in my mind I went through some names on the Lakeland hills and Mickledore was the first that hadn't been taken. I've been Mickledore ever since, even though I'm now so knackered bodily that I'll never get there again.
Simply because i am mint. Thought you'd have realised that by now. I've been around for 10k+ posts so I'm quite shocked you haven't realised this for yourselves..![]()
