You can. Depending on the conversion, the results differ.

Often the colours that come out will look weird. People use "Channel swapping" to get more pleasing results.

At first glance it may appear like just another high contrast black and white, but things react differently to IR. Plants/foliage for instance, reflect almost all of it (otherwise they'd heat up), and thus appear white under IR. Bodies of water absorb it, so appear black. Skin becomes much more uniform in tone and veins become visible (It's really weird), and radiative heat sources glow.

On my 720nm camera, with default colours the sky shows a rusty red colour. By channel swapping red/blue I got the following -

I see. Certainly interesting; but I suppose I'm struggling to see why you'd convert hundreds of pounds worth of camera to a single purpose. But I'm a single-camera kind of guy, so I guess my thought process will always be 'what can I get the most out of with the smallest amount of gear'

They did come out pretty good, although I have to take the meringue off as they are very sweet

I'll get in touch with LCE on Monday if I haven't found it - I have a paper copy from my purchase prior to the X-H2S and an electronic copy from the purchase after, so they must have updated their system/process around the time I bought it.

After turning over my office (it needed a sort out anyway) and venturing into the loft to check the box for the X-H2S, I asked LCE if they could (re)send the invoice, which they did swiftly.

Walk around Pontypridd with my XT5 and 23mm f2. Not posted in a long time, regaining my mojo, its called semi retirement.

My 18-135 returned from it's trip to Fuji's repair department today. Looks as good as new. Even got a little can of lens cleaning spray and a cloth thrown in as well.

The paperwork listed the following had been done:

Adjusted focus.
Updated firmware.

Replaced: Lens group, Lens frame, Grip, Lens ring, Main Circuit, Filter Ring, Fixed Cylinder.

Not sure there is much of my original lens left!

A little concerning how thorough the quality control/product checking of the online etailer I bought the lens from is though. Pity the warranty has expired.

Haven't had much play time with my Fooji's lately with work stuff going on, but we're taking a relaxing ten days holiday to the island of Harris along with our two border collie dogs over the festive season (17th--27th Dec), so hoping to shoot/shoot/shoot....

Thank you for the comment. It was taken in early November on Bruce's Isle of Harris workshop. He is great to be with, has become a good friend and was kind enough to write the Foreword for a book I did last year on the west coast of Scotland. The conditions during the week with mist and drizzle well suited the trajectory of where my photography has been headed although it's not to everyone's taste. More to follow........

He is great to be with, has become a good friend and was kind enough to write the Foreword for a book I did last year on the west coast of Scotland. The conditions during the week with mist and drizzle well suited the trajectory of where my photography has been headed although it's not to everyone's taste. More to follow........

Bruce's photography is awesome, although it makes me think the best place for my own camera is the bin. I might treat myself to one of his books after Xmas. Nice to see that he has a YouTube channel now.

It seems like a weekend of usage (sans SD card) has fixed my X-H2S - in that it now accepts SD cards, although there's now a strange clicking sound when inserting them, so I'll still send it back. In other news, it clicked over 10k shots at the weekend - the numbering system rest. I will share some of the shots when I'm on my other Mac and I can upload them to Flickr.

And one from the mountain bike race I shot on Sunday - it was pretty dark in the woods, even in the middle of the day, but the X-H2S/50-140 f2.8 combined coped with it. Looking back through the photos I felt like I got a better hit-rate using face/eye auto focus than I did with the bike subject detection mode.
