Two shots of the Gresley designed K4 loco No. 61994 "The Great Marquess" on consecutive main line excursions.
The first on the 13th October from Newcastle to Redmire on "The Wesleydale Railway" and back.

Seen here at speed near Darlington.

The following week 20th October the K4 hauled an excursion from York to Stanhope on "The Weardale Railway" and back.

With the Tees bay providing a backdrop "The Great Marquess" hugs the coastline at New Brotton.

so jealous you got a steam train at New Brotton I remember doing a reccy here about 2 years ago and never got on with it as getting a steam train on this bit of line is the proverbial rocking horse ******
