Looking at a DV6000 for a client.
No boot just one long 2 short code, meaning GFX problem.
Looking into this it was a common fault of overheating GFX chip and solder failing.
HP do offer a Bios update but that only works on a bootable lappy.
So the usual fix is apparently strip and change GFX cooler and utilise a reflow station.
Not having one of these to hand and not convinced anyway that they work (on a permanent basis), I found the blanket method.
Now this involves turning on the lappy which doesn't boot, wrapping the bottom half in a blanket and leaving for an hour.
Now I know the freezer trick works for drives, sometimes, so what the hell.
Turn on, wrap in blanket, go have lunch, come back, remove blanket, turn off and on and blow me the damn thing boots.
That was 2 days ago, still working and Bios about to be updated.
May not be permanent but just goes to show.
