Yes
i have the original Canon stock 18-55 i got with the camera

but i have also bought the following

Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6Di LD Macro 1:2 (just bought from Ryan (thenissanman)) couldn't resist the cheap price

Canon EF 35-70 1:3.5-4.5 bought this because i had a bit of spare cash and it seemed very cheap at £60

Canon EF nifty fifty II (from Kerso here)

have i got most things covered now?

i bought the 35-70 because i was told from a friend that it would do my watches better than the stock 18-55 with my extension tube but this is not the case:bang:

any info or advice greatly appreciated

You certainly have a good range in your bag, which should allow you to pursue different avenues of photography. Sometimes I think it is possible to have too many lenses, but we are probably all guilty of adding to our collections. Certainly the nifty fifty is one I suspect you will keep for a very long time, as it produces some great results.

The stock 18-55 is not that bad a lens...

My effort from yesterday and the first time I've really used it, personally I think it's the best photo I've personally taken (albeit with smoe good advice)...

I don't know why you found this as that lens is very good one if its the USM one I have one as well and I use it more then the kit lens till I got the 17-55 2.8 that is

im probably not using it right then lol
i'm serious when i say the above as well
the extension tube is non Canon so i have to focus etc manually
good god im looking at the lens now and just realised it has macro through to infinity.
gues where its set.........

will now have another go while you lot have a laugh:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The 35-70 adds nothing much in terms of focal length range over the kit lens, but that is probably the older 18-55 non-IS version, so you might want to upgrade that. The new lens is sharper and obviously has IS too.

The big gap is a wide-angle, around 10-20mm-ish.

Comparing apples with oranges I'm afraid. The 18-55 kit lens supplied with the 400D and the 18-55 IS kit lens supplied with your 500D are two completely different beasts.

Edit - Hoppy Beat me to it.
