The people of Bristol

These are all from a recent series I've been working on. The aim being to capture people relaxing around the city and to approach, engage and with their permission take their photo. I've not shot portraits much before, and have only just begun to take street portraits.

Lately I've been mercilessly stalking the fine people of Bristol. So here are a selection of the shots so far. Ilford XP2, Nikon FM2, 19-35mm.

I like these. My favourite is no. 6. One thing which i noticed with all of the pictures they all are taken from a high aspect. I wonder how tall you are... I don't mean that in a bad way but imho i feel all would have maybe looked better ( to me ) if they were taken from somewhere around eye level

I'm 6 foot, but most of the subjects were sat at ground level. I tend to be going for high angles, not sure why, will try some lower ones as well next time. 1 and 2 for example though I'd have been risking an upskirt pic, which would definitely not have reassured them.

I agree. That wouldn't have been very reassuring . lol. I haven't tried any street photography but i will definitely be giving it a go.
