I have the fz82 and a p1000, both are brill, thek p1000 can get pictuures of the moon easily. I will post some images later. May main kit is pro nikon d800, d750, d300s and d70 ir converted

Look forward to seeing some photos Steve, l had the p1000 too for a while and it is a beast of a camera.

When my RX10 dies I'll move on to one of these I suspect - would love the reach for birding
I got this for the exact same reason Mike, I did own the p1000 for a while but it was so big I didn't enjoy walking around with it. The p950 is quite a bit smaller so I don't feel so embarrassed using it. I decided having the rx10 iv back I no longer wanted to use the om system gear so passed that on like I said I might.
I am easily impressed with the results from the Nikon p950 considering its tiny sensor. The cat was shot at 1200mm hand held btw :)
