"The Societies" SWPP?

Has anyone just received a huge brochure called "Professional Image Maker" in the post? I just got one today without having requested anything and it's asking me to join "The Societies". Just wondering where they could have got my address from - especially as they're using a name for my 'company' which I have never used?
 
Have you ever been to a photography exhibition, where you had to register to get a name badge? The organisers often sell attendee's details to companies for mailshots.

I went to the one in Dublin last year and suddenly I've received this huge magazine too. Has the same typo in my address as I put on the registration form at that event... :suspect:

Its probably worth doing a search on here or google it if you want some strong opinions :naughty:
 
I got one the other week!! iv been to a few Photokina road-shows but never singed up with them..

They were formally the SWPP and others, i know ONE of the organisations are a little less than savoury! but not too sure which one..

What is like to know is which one has real prestige? which is actually worth joining, i was looking at maybe doing the LRPS or joining the MPA if i can.. :shrug:
