That means no more insects for the next six months. What do you lot take pictures of in these cold grim months? What ideas and advice could you give me on what to be looking for? I'm open to anything as long as it gets me out of the house. I've got a couple of longish range zooms a 400mm and a 270.

Thanks.

How about fungi, fruits, slugs and snails (plenty in my garden just now).

With a 400mm lens, birds are within reach. Some of the summer visitors are still around and some will be forming groups before leaving and autumn migrants are starting to arrive.

Cheers Dave I might try a bit of fungus at the weekend. We've actually got hedgehogs in the garden but I haven't seen them I just see the turds on the lawn they look like slugs. I might try my hand at a few bird pictures.

There are still things about during the winter............:)

I was wondering the same thing. I got my first dslr in spring and I cant get enough of shooting bugs at the moment. All I can find in my garden at the moment is spiders...

I'm off down to a reserve tomorrow and i'm wondering if anyone knows what bugs I can be looking out for?
