After who knows how long of me waiting a Nikon 300mm F4 AF-S, giving up hope, then wanting another I have finally found one@ a decent price

Arrived today, looks great, taken some sample shots, they look good to (even for being through a window lol)

Really suprised at how light and small this is compared to other lenses I have had but none the less it looks like a keeper

Seems to work nicely with the 1.7x TC aswell (again test shots)

Looking forward to a trip to Mallory Park tomorrow to give this a workout

Just thought I would share the fact after so long looking lol

Glad you got sorted. I hope the weather improves for you to get out there and play!

Kev.

I'll be interested in seeing the results Steve, I'm thinking (long term) of getting one of those babies so I can do a bit more wildlife stuff.

I have this lens & love it to bits. In fact I think 90% of my photos have been taken with this lens since I got it. If you look on my flickr you will see many photos taken with it. Some under its full name & some saying just 300mm Prime. Some were taken with a 1.4 Kenko as well. There are some nice butterfly ones, also the Dragonfly ones that a lot of people liked were taken with it. Flying Birds, Moon, Red Arrows, Sunsets, too many to mention.

Used the lens today and all I can say it WOW

the lens is stunning, pics up in abit, its on par if not better IMO than the 70-200 VR

rain stayed away aswell today and I burnt slightly

Were you running around in shorts and picking strawberries?

We were!:naughty:

Gald you got your lens - be good to see how you got on wiht it. You can take sme pics of waves coming over the end of Roker pier......

I drove up as far as Hartlepool this morning, i've never seen rain so bad, all the way up the A19 it was torrential with standing water on the road and floods, did you really have no rain at all where you are

When I got up at 5 this morning it was horrid, rained all the way down until we got about 5 miles away, stopped and then we got a shower at around 4:15 and rain all the way home, stopped for ten minutes when we got back which gave me time to empty the car

Off to put the lottery on tomorrow I am
