Then and now

I came across this site that contains a collection of photographs taken during the invasion of Normandy in 1944. All the locations have been revisited and photographed in present time by Patrick Elie. I wonder if any togs on here have done anything along these lines.

That was very interesting, I'm reading about D-Day at the moment and have visited the Normandy sites many times.

Interesting to see that Photographers back then worked in much the same way as we do now - find something 'interesting' - a good backdrop, some gucci equipment, some guys looking appropriately 'warry'; unpack and shoot a series of frames then move on to another location... You can see this from the same backgrounds on several of the images...
More so back then when working on Leica M3's, Speed-Graphics... it took longer to get set up and so more would be made of the time spent shooting...
