The House Sparrow numbers in our garden are fantastic this year. I estimate we have in excess of 100!

Anyway, here are a few shots from this afternoon. The sun is a little lower in the sky now, so I'm getting some lovely afternoon light.

No.1 A Juvenile Male House Sparrow moulting into his adult feathers

Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Lens: Canon 400mm f/5.6 L Prime
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/6.3
Focal Length: 400 mm
ISO Speed: 100

No.2 One of this years first born Female House Sparrow (moult almost complete I think?)

Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Lens: Canon 400mm f/5.6 L Prime
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/7.1
Focal Length: 400 mm
ISO Speed: 100

No.3 A very wet, fresh out of the bath Juvenile Male House Sparrow. This one is a substantial crop ... I love my 400mm prime :D.

Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Lens: Canon 400mm f/5.6 L Prime
Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/640)
Aperture: f/6.3

Thanks for looking!
