Things I miss from my Sony Alpha

I recently moved to the Nikon D3100. Previously I owned a Sony A200.

Things I miss:

• The dial being at the front by the shuter button
• The AEL button placement (Nikon makes me stick my thumb in my own face/eye)

Dont get me wrong, the Nikon, is an oustanding camera.

well get out and take pics get used to what you have now, surely the pics are better and the high iso better to.

Agreed, the AEL button is position on a place where I have to take the camera out of my face in order to press it as to avoid sticking my finger in my eye. That is on a D40 which is similarly small.

I don't mind the dial being on the back of the camera though as I'd have to use it on a higher spec camera that has two.

This isnt a 'i hate my new camera' thread, its a 'there are some thing i miss about my old camera', thats all.

Welcome to nikon

On my d300 there are numerous buttons, and you can re assign them. I think there is one under the lens.

Do you have extra buttons and does it mention in the manual whether you can reassign them?

If so, reassign one you don't use to the feature you are missing?

I did look at that and the A33 but I really dont like digital viewfinders.
