Things you didn't even know your Canon could do...

I know that my 40d can survive in quite a lot of rain! People really should be more brave with using their gear when it's raining ;) The worst that has ever happened is the LCD on the back got lines all over it from the water, but it dried after a few days.

Can they take photographs or just fire balls?:exit:

5D2 records battery life status of all your batteries! Comes in handy when you've got lots of batteries like I have.

Hold piles of papers down on your desk.
Hold doors open.

FTR, mine doesn't float but it does still work after a dunking.

I knew about the button to change the fps from 'High' 8.5 fps to 'Low' 3 fps but I didn't know I could program the two settings to be 8,7,6,5,4 fps and 3,2,1 fps respectively.

I think there should be a rule that you can't say things, unless you back it up with evidence.

Where is this button?

It's just the 'Drive' selctor on the top of the camera. You can select H, L, Timer 2' or Timer 10'.

By default H = 8.5fps and L = 3 fps

The bit that I didn't know about was - If you want to change the value of H or L you can do so in the custom menu P.Fn 19

The drive options will only be there for cameras that have a hi-speed drive. The 5d and 5d Mark II don't have this option as its only about 3.5 frames a second at its fastest anyway.

Mine is the 7d, at 15fps I reckon it counts. However, I thought that this was a single button press, a bit like the 1-shot raw/non-raw option. On my camera at least, I need to press the button, then rotate the back dial (so I guess I already knew) to change the shutter speed between high and low.
