No
Pics below.

I have googled images of the filter and I cant find the Hoya logo looking like my ones on any of them.

I also cant find any that say 'Made in Japan'. They all seem to say just 'Japan'

Fake?

I posted something recently in another thread.

I read somewhere that if the barcode was printed on the internal paper, it was fake.
Kosher filters have the barcode stuck on the outside of the case.

eBay - stupidity I know. Seller had lots and lots of positive feedback.

Never mind if it is. Lesson learnt and paypal claim if seller does not refund.

Just checked mine & they also say `Tokina Co.,Ltd Made in japan`
NOT `made by Tokina Co, Ltd`

Looks exactly the same as my Hoya UV filter which also says Made in Japan. My CPL filter is the same too.

Google image research is hardly a definitive answer. Have you actually contacted Hoya UK and asked them, sending in the pictures?

I'm not a big fan of eBay, but people can file disputes for just about anything - based on circumstantial evidence. Not saying it is not fake, but logos change, lettering changes, lines are changed and upgraded and manufactured slightly differently in different locales...

This... this is how I was told you could check whether or not your filter is a fake.

So if the barcode is on a sticker stuck to the back of the case all is good, if its printed on the liner thats inside the case, its fake.

My R72, bought from CameraKing (who I believe are an official Hoya retailer), says "Made by Tokina Co., Ltd." on the case, the barcode is a sticky label on the outside, and the rim of the filter says "MADE IN JAPAN" just like yours.

Thanks. Barcode is a sticky label - not straight but sticky!

Just noticed that the filter they used at lenstip had made in japan on:

http://www.lenstip.com/113.15-article-UV_filters_test_Hoya_72_mm_HMC_UV-0.html

Have sent a quick email just to confirm with Hoya that this is real.

Does it at least have reduced and coloured reflections, or is it like a plain piece of window glass? It is not conclusive as fraudsters have stepped up their efforts, but many still put plain glass in.
Another thing to watch out is the quality of filter thread.

I asked the seller to confirm that these filters were genuine, interesting response...

Hi !
Thank you for your mail.
We are not brave to sell a fake product.
We will do full refund if you think this filter is fake or not satisfied with it and we will pay your return postage too.
You can keep this mail and report eBay with this mail when you open a case if you think this filter is fake.
This UV(O) is made in Japan.
Don't worry at all !!
Thank you very much !

Checked two filters I bought from amazon, looks good , I also scanned the barcode using 'Red Laser' which is an iPhone app, which confirms that the barcode matches what it says on the box , hopefully didn't get ripped of for £90 . However a previous Hoya I bought from eBay only came in a soft packet and only says Japan around the edge of the filter. Definitely had my pants down there.

they look like the real thing to me ,ive got around 10- 15 hoyas here and there are differences on some of the older ones ,their are design changes on any product
