Think tank V Lowepro?

No
I have two bags on my radar. The bag needs to fit a 50D with an attached 70-200. A 17-55 2.8. A 50mm and two speedlites as a bulk of the equipment.

I have found two I like the look of from pictures, reviews and youtube.

The lowepro classified 160AW for around £50 (sadly missed out on the jessops £20 deal)

and the

Think tank retrospective 20 £100 ish.

Now there's nowhere near me that stocks a think tank but by reading reviews and videos it looks awesome. Anyone have one, is it worth twice as much as the 160AW for the gear I want to carry?

Depends how you value quality.

Haven't used that particular Think Tank (though I've handled one) but I have a couple of TT bags. Flat out the best made camera bags I've ever tried.

I bought a second hand Airport Security on eBay which looks like it has had a hard life. Scuffs on the skid plate and wheels actually worn down to metal. Snapperstuff sent me a free replacement set of wheels - I haven't managed to put another mark on it. I've used an Urban Disguise for a couple of years and I could sell it as new ;)

IMO there are a couple of brands that run TT close for quality but Lowepro isn't one of them.

I never had the Lowepro classified, but I carry the Retrospective 20 as my everyday bag. One part of the main compartment is for my camera, the rest is crammed with diaries, papers and therelike. I like it a lot and I consider it actually quite cheap considering the quality.

It passes as a normal bag and can be used as such without the dividers. That makes it a lot more versatile than any other shoulder-bag I've looked at so far. Your gear should fit comfortably, without over-filling the the bag. That's always a big plus in my book, as I hate having a brink bouncing on my back.

Ah took the plunge, thanks for the advice.

Ordered the think tank with a 20% discount code from harrision direct making it £102 delivered. Had some issues getting the code to work but they were blinding on the phone and sorted it out for me in 5 minutes, so the code now works :)

Now to inform the mrs she has just got me another xmas prezzie ;)
