Thinking of visiting the Peak District tomorrow for some landscapes. How accessible is it considering the snow we have had? I've notice Snake Pass and Winnats Pass are both closed. Are the areas around Derwent Edge or Baslow Edge accessible? Any help would be very well received, especially locations that are accessible.

All the main roads are fine. The minor roads have some icing on them. Snake is actually open but I wouldn't try Winnats. Park at Ashopton to get to Derwent Edge. Approach Curbar Gap from the Chesterfield side and walk onto Baslow Edge from there.

Thanks for the reply Chris. We did manage to get to Baslow Edge on Sunday via Cubar Gap from the chesterfield side and parked in the national trust car park. We checked ordinance survey maps before going and that seemed to be the best/least steep route. Travel news sites did show road closures around Winnats and Buxton so we avoided Mam Tor. Baslow Edge wax fantastic in the snow, more people than I expected up there too.
