OK, i bought this lens as i wanted the best i could get for my money but i'm not really using it to it's potential so am thinking of selling it and buying something else but not 100% sure what to do for the best. I curently have

Canon F2.8 70-200L IS USM
Canon F4 24-105L IS USM
Canon 70-300 IS USM (currently "borrowed" by my wife)
Canon 17-85 IS USM (currently "borrowed" by my wife)
Sigma 105 Macro

Here's the thing, i never use the 70-200 indoors and think something like the Sigma 100-300 F4 (second hand) would probably give almost as good images to my eyes for what i use and the extra reach would be more beneficial to me than the extra F stop. This would give me extra cash to put towards something like a 17-70 F2.8 which would benefit me as i do some indoor photography at local hockey matches but the 70-200 is just too long for but the 24-105 isn't fast enough for (no flash allowed!! :()

This sound like a good idea??

The 17-70 will be f2.8-4

Meaning somewhere around 50-70mm its going to be F4 so you lose the 2.8 benefit.

24-70 2.8? or the EFs 17-55 2.8 IS ??

Thanks for that, obviously i don't know my lenses too well!!.

I have the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, it's an amazing lens. If you need the 17-24mm focal range (which I think is really useful for general use), then I would recommend it. If you however, need the extra length between 55-70, and don't care about the 17-24, then maybe the 24-70 L f/2.8 is a better option for you.

Obviously, one is full frame compatible and the other is not, if this makes any difference to you.
