Thinking of upgrading

I'm thinking about upgrading from a Nikon D40x to a Nikon D90. I have enjoyed the D40x a lot, but am wondering if the extra cash is worth it? I quite like the idea of the video capture and some of the videos I have seen show it is very capable.

Couple of questions i have:

WIll it make my lens (18-200VR) focus faster?
Can it fire my flash (SB600) wirelessly without additional items?
Is it worth the jump or is there a better body for similar money?

I will sell my Sigma 10-20mm and D40x body to help fund the upgrade and keep the 18-200 only.

Thanks for any input.

Not sure it will make your lens focus faster.

If your sb600 an be a remote flash( I am sure it can) then yes it will work wirelessly with no other additional items (D90 has built in commander)

D90 is an excellent body and I would say is worth the extra.

Only other body I would look at in the Nikon range is the d300s if video is really important or the d300 if you are not so worried about video, although they would both be more secondhand than the D90 new.

The D90 is an excellent upgrade from the D40X. You'll notice the focusing possibly less in whether it makes your lens focus faster but that with more focus points, and more control over them, you can get the focus you want more easily.
