Hi does any one use a third party grip, I can't afford a canon one. If so where did you get it from.

Thanks

Yep - Here is the Link

I've bought a lot of stuff from DZone2 over the years, including a 5dMkIII and never had a problem with them

I've received the grip and it works as promised.

Yep same grip.

Some had battery drainage issues and battery recognition issues so buy from someone that if you get one of the older ones you know you'll get a no quibble replacement.

I can verify that uk highland will, and very quickly, as I had one of the mentioned issues, if you buy it from HK and it develops issues its a long wait for a replacement, if they replace it at all.

Brilliant, cheers! Do use use 3rd party batteries as well?

I use a Vertax grip on my 5D3 and have had it since may/june. It works very well and I have problem recommending it. Like Mark I've had some battery drain problems, but only if I leave the grip in the 'on' position. If it's turned off then I have no problems at all. It's a good weight and with a couple of 3rd party batteries I can shoot all day with AF and IS on and get easily over 1,500 photos. Here's a couple of pics with it fitted to my 5D3 to show you what it looks like with it on. I got mine off ebay and was £55 delivered if it was pre-ordered but I think it's gone up a bit since. You'll also notice the state of the GGS screen protector, finger marks wipe off it very easily and I'd recommend one of those also.
