Third party Flash for 40d

I am looking onto getting a good quality 3rd party flash and was looking at Sigma ef-530 which you can get on the bay for about 50 quid. Pure and simply because Canon speedlites cost a small fortune.
Anybody have any views or alternatives

I really rate my nissin DI622 mk2. It does all I need at the moment and was quite a reasonable price. It recycles pretty quick and I have been impressed with the battery life.
 
There are metz and yong nuo(sp) that get good write ups.
 
Try and find a Sunpak PZ42X going cheap on ebay. I've been using one for ages and it's a fantastic flash. I paid £100 for mine but got it new.
