This any good for lighting??

Don't.. no variation in output on those lights. either go for a proper flash set up or a speedlite setup

Are 2 or 3 speedlights set up and shot through soft boxes and umbrella's comparable with the likes of Lencarta flash heads for a home set up?

That Ebay kit is more or less OK for video, but for nothing else. Get flash instead.

Usable yes, but not comparable. They will cost you more than a Lencarta kit, they won't have anywhere near the power, won't have modelling lamps, won't work as well with softboxes and, if your studio photography progresses you won't be able to use them with anywhere near the range of modifiers that are available for studio flash.
They do work OK with umbrellas though.

Thank you Garry.

I have two 580EXii already and was looking at backdrops and speedlight stands last night as well as the lencarta website. Just wanted confirmation before looking for my credit card.

Cheers for the replies.

Currently using a two flash set up, background set up in it's way.... Thought it might have been to good with the lights for that much!!

Will keep saving for the other set I was after!

Cheers

Yes if you dont have enough room for the lencarta's, I dont so the speedlites are way better than lights that wont fit lol
