This idiot needs locking up.

Whilst I have zero sympathy for him whatsoever, 8 months does seem long in comparison to what people appear to get for other speeding type \ reckless driving offences in residential areas, and or some other general forms of crime where people are actually hurt.
 
I think it was to set an example to discourage other idiots.

To be fair he deserved more than a slap on the wrist, and hopefully it will discourage other retards from copying it
