This new Sony looks interesting. What do you reckon?

I had the original DSC H1 and it was one of the best 'point and shoot' cameras I ever owned. The H2 was complete mess. Hopefully this one is a good one if it's based on the H1 platform.

Hmm, a bridge camera for more than the A200. What do you think is interesting about it? Have to confess, I know nothing about bridge cameras.

Have a look at the spec

If it does what it says on the tin (but do these things ever? ), it looks to be a good camera for those occasions when one doesn't want to be lugging loads of gear around

I know it's dear, but hopefully it'll come down in price when we see those pigs flying again

OK, but I still wouldn't stump up that much for a bridge camera. A small DSLR like the A200 would probably as small as I'd want to carry around personally but then I'm not very dextrous.

Yep, got it today. Seems more of a matt finish than the other one. Came with Firmware v4 so that's a definite plus.

To note, I have played with a Sony demo/promo camera and it is very very good.

At last, a large CMOS sensor with very good low light performance and a market waiting to snap it up one would think. Bridge cameras still sell very very well.
