Hi, weird one. I went to take my 50D out this morning, turned it on and nothing. I charged both batteries, reloaded the grip and nothing. A bit of googling and someone suggested I replace the CR2016 battery which I did. Still nothing. Then I found some instructions about taking out the batteries/CR2016 and pressing the shutter button to completely drain the system. Still nothing. Then I tried it without the CF card in - great it worked. I then put the CF card back in and nothing, and had to remove the CF card and batteries to get it working again. Then tried another CF card and all is fine. The suspect CF card works fine in a card reader in the PC.
Has anyone seen this before ? I'm not going to put the suspect into my 7DII just to test a theory, I think it's destined for the bin. Just weird how the card seems fine in a card reader but stops the camera from turning on.
