Thoughts on Canon 300mm f4 i.s.

I Just wondered what people who own this lens think of them im toying with the idea of buying one to replace my sigma 300mm EX 2.8 cant take this lens and Canon 600mm i.s. in bag at the same time but the 300mm f4 would fit

You beat me to it :lol:, would be very interested on peoples views and their experience with this lens, I am looking to buy one, Im saving up and have my fingers crossed waiting for the price to become a little more reasonable :lol: :thumbs:
 
Had the Canon one on my Canon setup, got the Nikon one on my Nikon setup.

Both jolly good, Canon one has IS. IQ is lovely, will take a TC no problem.

Buy it.
 
I sold my 300/4 when I got the 300/2.8 but bought one back again for the reason you state....I need something lighter when out with the 600/4.
The other benefit is it's excellent minimum focus distance.

I have one for when out and about, and when I dont want to lug any of my bigger lenses about.

Can't fault the lens, excellent images, nice bokeh and light weight. it would be a good buy.
