I recently purchased one of these stroboframe rotating brackets and i am getting on with it pretty well.
But as you can see it does put some considereable distance between the lens and flash which as most of my shots are taken pretty close to the subject it can at times cause some horrible shaddows under the nose and chin, especially with shorties.
I currently use a 430EX but i am thinking of getting a 270EX flash to reduce the distance between the lens and flash.
Do you think the height reduction would be enough to make a worthwhile difference and what are people thoughts on this flash unit in general?
Being a very basic unit it has no controls itself, so when used with a 40d can i adjust flash exposure in camera?
Oh and of course it has no AF assist, is there a canon equivilent of the nikon flash cable as per the above image with AF assist built into the cable itself?
