Time for a new camera, need suggestions

Im not a big fan of my current Sony A300 camera.
It doesnt take very good pictures and its not very fast.
But hey could be me also

Anyhow im looking for a new camera now to replace or just buy an new extra
What are your suggestions on cameras for a beginner with photography?
What is the better brand these days? hehe

What DSLR should i go for?

Been looking on FinePix HS10
Its not a DSLR but seems very nice.
And very quick and nice zoom.
Could be nice addition to my current camera hehe

It's got a far smaller sensor than your Sony, so if you can't get good pics out of that, then taking a step backwards isn't going to help

Stick with what you've got and practice, practice, practice

I just think that its the camera sometime after i try my best and the pictures arent any good

Had a Nikon that was stolen, that was a great camera for the short time i had it for some reason i bought a sony

Would also be nice having a camera that also have the possibility to record HD

Have a read through the excellent "Talk Basics" section here on tp - you'll find lots of great tips on how to improve your shots and after a wee while it'll all start falling into place....

Depends what it is you feel you're struggling with. Perhaps if you posted a pic that you feel illustrates the problem we can offer some constructive criticism..

It all depends on what you are trying to shoot, and what the conditions are.
Even with the top kit, sometimes the conditions are bad enough that the gear can't cope.
It also depends on what you are comparing yourself to - the net has allowed a great number of talented (and experienced) amateurs to show their work to a wide audience, to match the quality of some of the stuff that's posted requires a lot of practice, both in taking the shot, and in post processing later.

The A300 is certainly capable of taking good pictures, and compared to any bridge or compact is certainly 'fast'.

What are you trying to shoot that is not working, and what lens are you using?

Why not put up some of your pics your not happy with people on here are always willing to help and offer some great advice.

Its a great learning place
