Hi all,

Am looking to have a go at time lapse photography and could anyone advise me what would be the best trigger to get for my 5D mk2. Looked at the canon one but the price!!! Don't want a cheap one, just something that will do a good job.

the 10-15 quid ones are fine, i guess they are abit cheap on build quality, and not really weatherproof...

you can get timelapse apps on your phone/tablet if you just want to play with the concept :)

Then there's magic lantern, free and loads of other extras

Does the 5D not have a built-in intervalometer?

No.
I have the cheap intervalometer but soon started to worry (a bit) about shutter life with it hammering away.
With magic lantern you can do it differently from the video function or something I believe.

Look at Triggertrap - they have a free app but you have to buy a cable - £20 i think you, or you could wait till they release their new Ada device ( will be more expensive but you can interchange the sensors)
