Hi All, Im a mac user using time machine to backup everything on my mac, i want to put a bigger hard drive in my macbook pro (500gb). I want to put snow leopard on the new hard drive.

If i back up using time machine will i be able to restore all my documents AND applications to my new hard drive without the need to install the the applications again from various cd's/dvd's?

Also how do you transfer websites from iWeb to another mac?

If you reinstall your mac with the bigger drive one of the options is to then restore EVERYTHING from a time machine backup. Docs and Applications as long as they are in the time machine backup.

To move an iweb site you need the exported files form iweb and a file called domain which is in your user account library under the iweb folder i think.

hope that makes sense...!

Yes, once you install SL onto the new drive, migration assistant pops up and asks if you want to move data from another mac, or time machine backup. Just point it to the backup, tell it what you want restored then go and have a pleasant meal, watch a movie, anything really to keep you busy for the time it takes to restore.

That'll happen when you do the thing above.

If you want to do it manually,
