Hello,

I bought an adapter ring to use cokin P filters but never got round to buying the filters themselves.

I see there are big sets of filters on ebay for £20 and you get 10 + filters but I feel this is too cheap? However I don't want to spend £100 on one filter.

Are there any sets worth having for £20/£30? I only want 3-4 ND filters. None of the fancy purple/orange/sepia ones.

Bump for this, as I'm also interested. Not entirely sure if landscape will be for me but I'd like to try without spending a fortune for the time being.
 
Do you really need 3 or 4?

I mainly shoot landscapes and use a 3 stop and a Big Stopper, never needed any more than that.

Although I have a huge wallet of Lee gear (1,2,3 stop ND grads in hard and soft edge, 3 stop ND, Hitech 3 stop reverse, Big Stopper etc) I reckon I could probably cut that down to a 3 stop hard grad, 2 stop soft grad, 3 stop ND and a Big Stopper.

I've got to agree with Mark.

I hardly ever use anything other than my 3 stop grad and big stopper. Positioned carefully a hard grad on a smallish lens (I use on a 77mm 17-40) can also act as a full ND filter.

I'd recommend buying less filters, but higher quality. Lee filters are worth every penny.
 
I started with the adaper ring and a couple of nd's, now got 3 nd and one hard grad. Gives you a chance to learn about the first ones before buying loads of filters you won't useand not giving them a chance

do individual filters for between £12 and £15 each and sets of three for about £35.

I haven't used their NDs but the one grad filter I have from them seems OK.
