Timer remote controller alternatives for 40D and 7D

Anyone tried the far east alleged equivalents for the TC-80N3?

The OE one which I have is excellent and I'm looking to buy another, the alleged equivalents are only about £20 or so and I'm interested in finding out if anyone has experience of these. Thanks.

Well, no response so far, so I'm ordering one of these:-

I've got one, similar to the one on the link. It does exactly what it says on the tin. No on/off switch, but that's my only gripe.

Cost me £28.

Thanks, Sean, mine seems to cost £21, bit of a bargain!!..but you're right, the Canon one doesn't have an on/off either!!

Could be a Chinese copy...or indeed the same unit without Canon markup and branding....we'll see!!

I've gone for the exact same remote - why pay bucketloads for an 'official' one. Plus all the Yongnuo stuff I've had in the past has been more than adequate!
