Tips for writing a blog in terms of SEO?

I have recently moved over to a Bludomain flash site, so I need to try and get in some SEO work wherever I can to make up for the lack of an html site. My blog is with Wordpress and is done through the server, so it's situated at www.mydomain/blog.

The blog is a one page effort, but I'm wondering how I should go about updating my blog in terms of keywords. Do I try and get in the top keywords in every post I make, or as a one page blog, would this be deemed as spamming? Does anyone have any tips as to how I use the SEO all in one pack as well, as I'm a bit confused as to how I should title this with every post too.

I know Wordpress is meant to be a good avenue for SEO work, but I don't want to actually end up making things worse so need to ensure I'm doing things right, without wanting to bore the crap out of the people reading it by trying to cram in repetitive keywords.

Google is very clever, they like sites that a human would like, so just write naturally. Also for anything Google SEO related have a read of their SEO PDF.
 
Cheers, my blog isn't one dimensional in terms of trying to cram keywords in, but I wondered whether I need to try and get a few in with every post just for good measure or whether Google will still pick up the ones I used in earlier posts.
 
Can't you add a keyword panel (so you can add keywords in a sneaky way) ala this blog,(down the bottom, listed as tags) so it searches for your entries with these words in it?

Don't no much about SEO, so ignore me if I am talking twaddle.

When you're writing your post and you have interest in some subject, it comes naturally that you will use certain keywords associated with it. That's more than enough. If the content will be long and moderately keyword-dense there's a high probability, that it'll hit Google match list.

Please remember that to run a successful SEO you really need to pay attention to the structure of content, using proper headings, and also to communication with the rest of the Internet. It's not just about your blog :)

although he's done it in quite a nice way, the trouble is unless you're careful google will penalise you for this nowdays - if you have content that it reads as intended for search engines and not your readers it will score you down.
 
Blogs are often treated as news by Google and new news may rate highly but older news will simply slip down and disappear.

You really need to write interesting articles etc so that your blog is picked up by other blogs and links are put on their blogs leading to your blog.
 
Wordpress is quite SEO friendly as it is, best advice I can give is use lots of relevant content. There is SEO plug in you can install as well.

There is a good SEO guide published by Google which is well worth reading, and PhotoShelter have a SEO guide which is also worth considering, partly it says how good they are and why you should use them (according to them), but also gives useful hints and tips.
