Hi. I was wondering if you have any tips to share when your in a forest with your camera.

What kind of subjects and stuff do you shoot?

Whenever I'm in forest I feel lost and not sure what to look out for?

Its all same same with me. Trees? Leafs?

Depends on the forest but in general:-

Tree bark can be very texture & pattern appealing
Canopy framing the sky
Sunlight hitting leaves
Sunlight dappling a glade
Patterns in the scene made by multiple trunks

Having said that I have walked through woods/forests where nothing grabbed my eye.

It's about focal points, things that attract the eye. Not every woodland or forest will readily produce something appealing, and it may require more photographic input than just finding a scene to make it appeal (DoF control can be very important in emphasising the subject, as well as 'just right' lighting).

Have a look at Simon Baxter’s channel. He’s a woodland photographer

I'm quite jealous of the conditions in the "Caledonian pine forest" video. Last week we walked up to Larch Valley above lake Moraine in British Columbia, having been told the trees had already changed colour there (they had not) and had snow come over from one of the mountains opposite, but it was fine and powdery, rather than big photogenic flakes like that. Still working through, and I've not got to those images yet.
