I am looking to buy a camera

About me: I am not looking to become a professional photographer for the time being because I already have a fashion business, but would like to learn and create professional-look photos.

Why would I need the camera for?

I would like to use it for many reasons:

1. To do fashion photography for my future collection

2. To take "still" photos for my website (for example, you see photos in eBay)

3. For travelling purpose - pictures of architecture, landscape and also wild animals (South Africa) - and mayve to create my own travelling book

4. Maybe sports especially horse racing (close up, etc)

Does it matter which camera should I buy, or different camera for different reasons? I couldn't choose between Nikon or Canon. If one of them, but which make would you recommend me to have for the following 4 above.

Thank you

Graham

PS: Using Sounds, headphone etc - will be out of question because I am deaf

Hi Graham, the big thing you've missed out of your info is the budget you've got to work with. As above, the Canon 5D MkIII is an excellent camera but at around £2000 and not including any lenses or other gear you may need.

If you allow another £1000 for a good long zoom lens such as the Canon 100-400 L for your wildlife and horse shots, another £600-700 for a couple of good primes for your fashion shots and around £300 for a flashgun, bag and cards etc you might end up with a very thin wallet.

There are plenty of other cameras and lenses available that will cost a hell of a lot less though, so it would help a lot if you could give us an idea.

The reason I did not give out the budget, because I had no idea which camera would go for the above!!

I'll check with these 2 canons.
