That is the question

I really really really want a Canon 24-70L. Do I buy now or wait until January and hope for a reduced price in the sales?

Being relatively new to photography am I right in presuming that I won't really get amazing discounts on an L lens anyway?

With VAT going up in Jan it may be better to get it now. Depends on how big the discount you are hoping for is.
