To Tumblr or not to Tumblr?

According to a few things I've read, Tumblr seems to be the next-big-thing on social media. I've also read a lot (including on TP) that any aspiring pro should blog as a means of 'speaking' to customers/potential customers.

Does anyone have experience of using Tumblr as part of a business? I already have Facebook and Twitter, as well as my main website. Do I need to 'Tumble' (?) too?

I was thinking of using it as a blog integrated into my main site.

Cheers,

Ian.

I have one image that's only a few months old with over 600 views most of which have came from tumblr. It seems to have quite a young following so I don't know how this would fit in with your targeted clientèle. If you're trying to grow your business though, it couldn't hurt.

That's one thing I was wondering - I thought if I embed it into my site though, 'the grown-ups' could see it as a blog on my main site, while 'the kids' could access via Tumblr and find their way to my site as a result. Obviously, I'd have to be careful in terms of writing style/ content.

That was what I was thinking.
