My friend has asked me to help promote his car showroom so i'm going to photograph his cars for him, i'm going to go for an artistic kind of look so i'm in the market for a uwa lens.

There's a brand new Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 Pro DX on Ebay for £310 and wondered if anyone has one or has used one before, it's either that or the more expensive Sigma 10-22, the Canon equivalent is a little out of my price range

Have a read of the shipping, warranty and terms at the bottom of the page. It's a grey import so if anything goes wrong with it you will be sending it back at your cost and your warranty is with them and not tokina uk. You could get stung with import tax too if it gets picked up by customs, that's why it's so much cheaper than uk new lens.

I've used the sigma 10-22 before on nikon and I found it to be pretty good. Good colours and there is some barrel distortion at 10mm but that's to be expected at 10mm with a UWA lens. A good choice of lens that can be picked up at a nice price second hand, if you are willing to go second hand.

Irrespective of where you buy one from, it is a very very good lens and you will not be disappointed.
 
The Tokina is an excellent lens.I sold mine to buy a Nikon 16-35 f4 for full frame.I would go back to the Tokina without hesitation for crop sensor. Just remember the old one does not have a motor for focusing if you have not got a motor in your camera you will need the MKll.
 
Do you mean the Sigma 10-20mm rather than 10-22 which I can't find any reference to?

The f4-5.6 version of the Sigma can be found for £339 from a UK retailer selling UK stock so would say that's a better option.

I don't think you need the extra couple of stops of the Tokina as it being a showroom should be very bright, you aren't freezing motion and presumably at that wide angle you won't be going for a shallow dof effect either.
 
The mark I vs mark II motor issue on the tokinas is only relevant for Nikon as they all autofocus on all canon bodies.
 
Currently own the MK II and it is a great lens some say its the best UWA for the DX formatt. I had choose it over the sigma due to it being quicker but I do like to do night photography as well!!

Yeah sorry I meant the sigma 10-20

I think I would prefer the tokina but the grey import issue is putting me off now lol
