Yes
I am looking at one of these myself. I saw it on simply electronics and very nearly hit the buy button. But the price seemed so much cheaper than anywhere else it was too good to be true.
A quick search on the company including on here threw up enough poor reviews for me to decide to avoid using them.

Bass_Junkie, I did it the wrong way round lol.
I brought the lens, first purchase from simply electronics, and then I found a thread about them with bad feedback. I ***** myself lol!

Tokina come no problems within a week, no trouble getting through to customer services.

It then come to buying my 24-70mm f2.8L, once again simply electronics was by far the cheapest... should I risk it again.

I did and it worked again, hassle free.

At the moment I can't say a bad thing about this company.

Looking through the bad feedback its mostly about long delivery times, its never been about the item not turning up (from what I've seen)

The reason being is that they import the lens from HK and sell it at cheaper prices in the uk.

Have a chat with Sophos9 I know he has a D300 with a Tokina 11-16 f2.8 and rates it very very highly ;) :)

Well in that case i may just give them a go, just stick it on the credit card for a bit of security.

I'll remmeber that for next time, i already ordered from SE.
Now it's just the agonising wait.........

i wanna get one aswell

but simply electronics and onestop are both hongkong dealers i wanna buy it from a uk supplier

Im starting to think i might risk it and try to get a good copy of the sigma 10-20

reading up about this tokina its not meant to be a landscape lens and the subject tends to get lost.

decisions decisons! :cuckoo:

IanC I am in Dubai at the moment and unable to access flickr (it is illegal to do so here :() to post some shots I have taken with my 11-16 and D300. But if you go to my flickr site, the link is in my signature, I have tagged such shots with "tokina1116mmf28 " so they are easy enough to find. Basically I bought it about 9 months ago and I am very happy with the results

Note the distortion. The hood is quite a bit larger diameter than the lens (and other lenses), so you may not have space for it in a bag.

Thanks for that John you have got some good shots there. would you say it will work well as a landscape lens?

Be careful where you buy the Tokina, buy it from the right place in Hong Kong etc and you will get the warranty which is truly international (i.e. will be honoured by Kenro in the UK)

Simply, the sigma does not compare to this lens - the Tokina is far sharper at 11mm f2.8 than the Sigma in its supposed sweet spot...

Buy cheap buy twice ;)

I've got the Tokina and it's lovely, got in from One Stop Digital and it was delivered in three days.

I am sure it will be great for landscapes - I hoping to get some good ones when I go to South Africa next year ;)

I've been trying to decide myself over which UWA to buy; now just about decided on the Tokina 11-16mm.

I thought I would check out the warranty situation and spoke to a lady at Kenro today and she said they would only provide a warranty if the lens was supplied by Kenro - i.e. a proper UK supplier

I was going to get one from kerso but if I can't get any warranty not so sure

Looks like One Stop Digital provide a return to base warranty for 6 months

I've seen a few auctions that say they provide the 2 year International Warranty card but if Kenro won't accept that - who knows

Anyone any experience themselves of Tokina/Kenro UK warranty?

I would go back to Kenro and challenge this - Tokina provide an International Warranty so any works conducted are recharged to Tokina regardless of where you are in the UK. I have an email somewhere from Kenro confirming the International Warranty and their inclusion with Tokina...

Load of mine here and another lot there which show how versatile it is for different types of things.

Cheers, I think I'll give them another call tomorrow and try to speak to someone else and see if I get the same talk from them - anyone else have any experience of Tokina warranties in the UK?

Well an update on the Tokina Warranty situation at Kenro

Spoke to a different lady today who went away and checked and she said that the warranty would be covered as long as there is an international warranty card

She said the international warranty was quite new for them so perhaps that's why the other lady didn't know about it

The interesting thing she said to me was that any repairs would be a slow process as they are only a small company and wouldn't replace the lens - doesn't fill too much confidence on there repair skills :)

So now to find out if kerso can get me one sorted with all the shortage there seems to be on this lens
