Tokina 12-24 on D90

Hi

Been reading threads on here and other reviews of the Tokina 12-24mm for Nikon. I'll be using it on a D90.

Anyone else got experiences of this lens? Especially on the D90

It's much more affordable that Nikon

It's either this or Tokina 11-16 for landscapes.

Got the 11-16 on a d300 (big brother to the d90). Produces wonderful results... and even better ones if it was in pro hands lol.

12-24 - no idea sorry. Did you try searching through flickr?

I can't comment on the 12-24, but as ecniv says; the 11-16mm Tokina is most excellent!

I tried out both the 10-24 and 12-24 Nikkors on a D90 before purchasing, but the price difference at the time meant I could 'only' opt for the Tokina, which felt just as solid as both Nikkors. A good choice in hindsight imho

12-24mm is excellent, as long as you know what hyperfocal distance is, and can correct CA in RAW converter (dead easy: -24 cyan and +18 yellow in LR). Sharpness is wonderful, but the colours need a slight boost to bring them up to Canon L level.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have a read up on hyperfocal distance.

Anyone else used the 12-24 Tokina lens?
