Having just sold 12-24mm I feel a lust for a quality wideangle, something I could used near enough wide open and get the results.
17-40 kind of does that on 1.3x 1D, but it needs some careful 'babysitting' on full frame.
as an option I wouldn't mind another quality tokina, this time designed for full frame 35mm.
I know 16-28mm f/4 is excellent optically, but are there any ways to use 100mm lee filters on it? It has no filter thread; £699
17-35mm f/4 is more conventional, but it seems to go for >£1k - hardly a price I am prepared to pay for 3rd party f/4 glass. I'd imagine it should be less than 16-28?
And finally back round to canon, this time 16-35mm II f/2.8 with 82mm thread :bonk:
