Can anyone give me a honest opinion on this lens please.
I know it is a great portrait lens but the 135 at the long end means it is a bit short for much else, how do you find it and is it a lens you have on your camera a lot?
 
I read that the Sigma ƒ/2.8 50-150mm was as good or better at 135mm, so went after that instead, although it took several tries to settle on one I was happy with.
 
I have one of these and I am well pleased with it. It is ok at f2.8 but sharpens up quite a bit at f3.5 and at f5.6 f8 is very sharp. Focus is not as quick as an AFS Nikon lens. They are very well built and as an overall package very good value for the 2nd hand price of around £350.
