Yes
Anyone got one of these ?
1:1 for £200 less than the Nikkor 105 AF-S but no VR (not that you need it on a tripod)

How do you find it ?

Any example shots ?

Cheers,
Daniel.

Not bad, but the Tamron SP90 Di LD is the gem out of the bunch.
Cracking lens, better than most of the competition and one of the cheapest at around the £350 mark new.

I found the Tokina to be sharper then the Tamron and the AF faster and more precise but samples do vary and both are great macro lenses.

Also look at the Sigma 105mm and the, older, Canon 100mm NON-USM

2 Tokina shots:

Thanks guys - will check them out.
The Canon probably won't work on my D90 though ;)

Looks like a toss up between the Tokina and the Tamron.

Daniel,
I have the 105vr and it is a corking lens, if you can afford it go for it, you will not be disappointed. I am only just up the road from you so I could meet up if you want a play.

The latest Digital Camera magazine (December issue) has macro lenses on test.

In Nikon fitment, their scores were

Tokina 100mm & Tamron 90mm 4*
Nikon 105mm & Sigma 105mm 3*

I've got theTokina and haven't really used it , but it is a solidly built lens.
