Lovely sky colours I've been having that problem too and I'm hoping the graduated ND filter I've got coming soon will help sort it......

Made 2 layers from the image in photoshop.
Changed the curve in the top one to brighten the ground.
Used the erase tool to erase the sky and show the origional sky from the lower of the 2 layers.

Very quick edit so you could do a lot better with more time.

Was trying to climb out of my attic window to see this...on the wrong side of the house Could see it a bit....colours were fantastic!!!

Ive had a go and came up with this

Use a ND grad filter and then you are sorted. No need for post processing then

take a reading from the sky,then a reading from the foreground,and whatever the difference is(in stops)use the apropriate filter(ND grad)and hey presto...
