Hey all,

I found this yesterday http://www.cpr.demon.nl/prog_plotf.html it's a program which analyses the photos you've got on your computer and draws graphs based on focal length, aperture, iso and shutter speed so you can see what you most commonly use etc.

Thought people might find it useful for choosing new lens (as I am doing) or other things.

I used it to help me choose lenses after I got the 18-55 and 55-300 kit lenses with my K20. Quite useful.
 
Haha, I've figured out that the 17-40 would be no good to me using this because 80% of what I shoot is either at 15/16mm or 55mm!! I seem to completely skip out everything in between!
 
Just used this and it says 2.5% were shot at 930mm. Hmmmm as my longest lens is 300mm and even with the 1.4 and a crop body its on 6 something I'm unsure where it is getting that from. Does it take editing crops into account?
 
Not sure. Have you got one of those multiplication tube things?
 
Not sure about this one, I just ran it on my 2011 Raw folder and it doesn't show any pics at 10-20??

It only does JPEGs from what i can see which makes it pretty useless to me as i dont change that much to jpeg

And it didnt change images shot with a ef-s 17-85 to 35mm equivalent. Is there anything better?

You can select actual or 35mm equivalent focal length.

I've just checked the exif in my lightroom edited jpegs which is what I use and they aren't changed on crops.
 
That worked well. It leads me to the conclusion that a 24mm and a 50mm would work well with my 100 and 300 and I could do without my 24-105. But I might need another body. Hmmm

Top left is a button which says "start analyzing". To the right of that is another which says "real lens length" or "35mm equivalent". Double click on this until you have what you want then click the "start analyzing" button. If this does not work, it has not installed properly.
 
Well I had it on 35mm equivalent and it didn't do it but the lightroom plugin worked fine so I'm not fused now. Ta anyways

Did you do what I suggested?
 
Just tried it again doing it exactly the way you said and it still doesn't give 35mm equivalent on all lenses. It does some which isn't did before but not all. It doesn't matter though.
